ROCKLAND, Maine — A Rockland man has been arrested and a second man is being sought in an investigation into illegal sexually explicit materials involving young women and girls.

Rockland police arrested Patrick Corcoran, 25, on Friday on a warrant for felony possession of sexually explicit material of a minor and multiple counts of unauthorized dissemination of private images.

The arrest comes after a monthslong investigation by Rockland police into the online distribution of hundreds of nude images, including images of the victims who were younger than 18 when the photographs were taken, Rockland police said.

Corcoran was released on $2,500 cash bail.

An arrest warrant on the charge of unauthorized dissemination of private images is still pending for a second suspect who lives outside Knox County.

In Facebook posts allegedly made by the second suspect in August 2025, he reportedly admitted to posting photos of girls after joining an online Discord group of young men who were sharing nude photos of girls during the COVID-19 lockdowns. He apologized for his actions in his posts. He said he participated in the group for about six months.

The Knox County district attorney’s office victim witness advocate will be reaching out to the victims of the crimes.
