PITTSFIELD – Sebasticook Valley Federal Credit Union announced its participation in the Maine Credit Union League’s 2025 Campaign for Ending Hunger, a statewide initiative supporting hunger relief organizations across Maine. Through employee, member and community fundraising efforts, Sebasticook Valley FCU raised $35,800 in support of the campaign during 2025.

Since first participating in the Campaign for Ending Hunger, Sebasticook Valley FCU has contributed over $480,000 to hunger relief efforts statewide.

“No one, especially growing children, should have to go hungry,” said Jim Lemieux, president of Sebasticook Valley Federal Credit Union. “But the fact remains that one in five children in Maine are food insecure. We are proud to continue supporting the Maine Credit Union League’s Campaign for Ending Hunger and the organizations across Maine working to address this. The campaign reflects the spirit of credit unions and the role we play in strengthening local communities.”

The Campaign for Ending Hunger is a statewide initiative led by the Maine Credit Union League, with 100% of funds raised supporting Maine-based hunger relief organizations. Participating credit unions host fundraising events, donation drives and community activities throughout the year to support the effort.

Sebasticook Valley FCU supports the campaign through a range of fundraising activities, including employee-led initiatives, member contributions and community events held throughout the year.
