I strongly urge Maine’s congressional leaders not to vote for funding of any kind whatsoever for ICE. I get it, there is a desire to wrap some parameters around what ICE can, and cannot do, and be utilized for. However, President Donald Trump has proven time and time again, he’ll do what he wants regardless of standing legislation and we’ll be back at square one with Trump utilizing ICE as his personal army to be deployed to states to perform his personal deeds.
I believe ICE must be dismantled and rebuilt at some point in the future due to Trump’s gross misuse of this agency. Trump cannot be trusted to adhere to the law.
