Sandra Harris has been selected a 2026 Maine Terrific Ten Broadcaster in honor of her community service by Spirit of America Foundation’s Maine Chapter.
Harris is a veteran media professional and on-air announcer for Maine Public Radio, where she has been since 2017.
She has an extensive history of volunteerism in the Maine community. Harris has volunteered for the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland since 2016, frequently emceeing fundraising events.
She served as a trustee, docent and chair of the education committee for Victoria Mansion from 2001-15.
Harris has been a member of the media committees for both the Cancer Community Center and the MS Society’s Maine Chapter.
She has assisted the Maine Flower Show by distributing materials and assisting with setup and done many other things to help the cause of volunteerism over the years.
Maine Spirit of America is a chapter of Spirit of America Foundation, an organization promoting community service.
