Sophomore Mason Pelletier of Easton had himself a day to start the Class S North tournament.
Pelletier, a forward for the Aroostook County school, provided an unrelenting offensive performance on Thursday and finished with 42 points — and that was without playing much of the fourth quarter.
“The key was just listening to coach’s plan, honestly,” after I made those first couple of shots, I knew I was in the zone,” Pelletier said. “So I just kept going.”
Pelletier and his Easton teammates secured a comfortable 83-35 win over Wisdom to kick off their Class S North tournament run. Class S is a newly-created division for schools with student enrollment under 100.

Pelletier had a whopping nine steals and and five assists to go along with his 42 point-performance, according to the live stats compiled by the Maine Principals’ Association and Maine Basketball Rankings.
The sophomore said his team was motivated by not making it past the quarterfinal round a year ago.
“We just wanted to prove a point and let everybody know that we’re here to win,” Pelletier said.
He and his teammates from a small school in Aroostook County were ready for the big stage in Bangor on Thursday.
“We have the biggest crowd throughout our whole season, and it feels great to hear the crowd cheer and them call your name after,” Pelletier said.
Teammate and senior guard Raiden Cochran added 14 points. Sam Tardiff led the scoring for Wisdom with 11 points.
