BANGOR, Maine – Senior guard Ava Lerman scored 41 points to lead top-seeded Wisdom High of St. Agatha to a 65-14 victory over eighth-seeded Easton on Thursday afternoon.

With Thursday’s win, the Pioneers moved to 18-1 on the season. Wisdom beat Easton 75-13 and 69-11 during the regular season.

Easton finished up at 6-13.

Wisdom will now play fifth seed Ashland on Tuesday at 1:30 in the semifinals.

Lerman scored the game’s first seven points. Her 41-point total was a career-high.

“It didn’t feel like 41 but it was a great feeling,” said Lerman, who will take her basketball skills to Husson University in Bangor next fall.

She said the key to her performance was being aggressive on both sides of the ball.

“Defense sparks my offense. So getting in a low stance, getting steals, getting tips and then pushing in transition sparked a lot of the offense for me today,” Lerman said.

Lerman also had 11 rebounds, four steals and three assists. Peyton Roy contributed 10 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Kelsie Daigle had six points and six rebounds for the Pioneers. Madi Cyr had five points and four rebounds.

Sophie Blackstone had eight points and four rebounds for Easton and Olivia Bate had a 3-pointer. Mea Legasse had five rebounds.
