Wisdom senior guard Ava Lerman scored a career-high 41 points on Thursday in the Class S North high school basketball tournament.
And after her team’s convincing 65-14 win over Easton, Lerman explained how she scored all those points by “just being aggressive on both sides of the ball.”
She scored the first seven points of the game and also had 11 rebounds, four steals and three assists.
“It didn’t feel like 41 but it was a great feeling,” Lerman said.
She’ll take her game to Husson University in Bangor next season.
“Defense sparks my offense,” Lerman said. “So getting in a low stance, getting steals, getting tips and then pushing in transition sparked a lot of the offense for me today.”
