The Maine high school basketball tournament is just getting underway, but we might already have a contender for best shot of the whole competition.

Mt. Ararat senior guard Jenna Jensen added some early fireworks in her team’s quarterfinal matchup against Skowhegan by knocking down a half-court shot as time expired at the end of the first quarter.

Jensen is a captain for Mt. Ararat, which is the No. 1 seed in girls Class A North. Jensen led the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference in assists during the regular season with nearly 5 per game.

Mt. Ararat beat Skowhegan 62-24 on Friday night, with Jensen providing 12 points and 7 rebounds.
