Gregg Lagerquist has been selected a 2026 Maine Terrific Ten Broadcaster in honor of his community service by Spirit of America Foundation’s Maine Chapter.
Lagerquist is an anchor at WGME and has been with that television station for many years.
He is highly active in the community. Lagerquist is a frequent public speaker and debate moderator for civic groups across Maine.
He often volunteers as an emcee for local charity events, such as the “Maine Walks with Haiti” 5K and the Maine Mentoring Partnership ceremony.
Lagerquist is heavily involved with Make-A-Wish Maine’s “Share the Power of a Wish” telethon annually hosted by WGME. During his newscasts in weeks leading up to that fundraiser, he highlights personal wish stories of youngsters. The telethon last year raised nearly $500,000 to help children with critical illness.
With a soft spot in his heart for charities helping children, Lagerquist also assists Hear ME Now. That cause helps deaf and hard of hearing children get a good start in life and is especially dear to him.
Maine Spirit of America is a chapter of Spirit of America Foundation, an organization promoting community service.
