CAPE ELIZABETH — TD Beach to Beacon 10K race organizers announced the online registration dates for the 28th running of the TD Beach to Beacon 10K Road Race, which will take place Saturday, Aug. 1 in Cape Elizabeth.
Once again, dedicated registration days are being held for current and past race beneficiaries. Dirigo Reads, recently announced as the 2026 charitable beneficiary, will have up to 50 bibs available for those who race to raise funds for the organization. Dirigo Reads bib holders will have the opportunity to register beginning Monday, March 16. Runners who want to run on behalf of previous TD Beach to Beacon 10K beneficiaries will have open registration on Monday, March 30. Registration for all beneficiaries will close on June 30, though fundraising can continue past that date.
The below reflects the registration schedule for legacy runners, Cape Elizabeth residents and general public:
- Friday, April 10 – Friday, July 10— Legacy runners who have participated in every TD Beach to Beacon race to date as well as those running on behalf of race sponsors.
- Tuesday, April 14 — Open registration for Cape Elizabeth residents, first-come, first-served basis until spots are filled.
- Wednesday, April 15 — General public registration, first-come, first-served basis until spots are filled.
The Kids’ Fun Run, Beacon Walk, Run, Roll and High School Mile events will take place on Friday, July 31. Registration for the Kids’ Fun Run and Walk, Run, Roll will also open on April 15.
Registration will begin at 7 a.m. on each open registration day through the race website, www.beach2beacon.org.
Dirigo Reads’ mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of children in Maine through literacy and share a little optimism along the way. This is accomplished by giving first graders in participating schools a brand new book to keep during every month of the school year. Last year, Dirigo Reads served more than 3,500 children in 106 schools across Maine’s 16 counties. Since the program began in 2019, Dirigo Reads has distributed more than 103,000 books to first grade students in participating schools.
The TD Beach to Beacon 10K draws runners from New England and throughout the world to picturesque Cape Elizabeth, Maine. The race begins on Route 77 near the Crescent Beach State Park entrance, winds along tree-lined streets and past breathtaking ocean vistas and ends in Fort Williams Park at historic Portland Head Light, the most photographed lighthouse in the world.
