Melodie Beauchemin of Saint-Felix-de-Calquier, Quebec, has won the 2026 Can-Am 100 with a time of 10:08:22, according to Sunday preliminary results on the official Can-Am website.
Beauchemin, 34, of Saint-Felix-de-Calquier, Quebec, crossed the finish line at 9:40 p.m. Saturday.
Beauchemin owns Alaskan Kennel and works as an administrative assistant, according to her official Can-Am biography. She and her dogs love to explore new trails and participating in sled dog races gives her “an unimaginable adrenaline rush,” she said.
Last year, she placed second in the Can-Am 100 and has placed first in the 45-mile contest in the Boreal 150 for three years in a row.
David Boyer of St-Liguori, Quebec, came in second, finishing at 9:44 p.m., race records said. Boyer, 44, is a farmer who has been participating in sled dog racing for nearly 33 years. His total time was 10:12:47.
Luc Fortin, 49, of Roxton Falls, Quebec, crossed the finish at 9:54 p.m. to place third. Also a farmer, he enjoys training the dogs and watching their progress, according to his biography. Fortin’s time was 10:22:48.
Mushers arrived at the finish line in a steady stream over roughly 90 minutes.

Teams led by mushers Becki Tucker, Alex Gurka and Julia Klaucke scratched, according to race records.
