The FBI is conducting an investigation in Waterboro.
FBI agents descend on Main Street there on Wednesday, York County Sheriff William King said.
He said both agencies are cooperating on the investigation, though he didn’t offer any specifics about what they are looking into.
The sheriff said there isn’t a threat to public safety, saying residents and business owners should go about their business as usual.
