Dick Palm has been selected as a 2026 Maine Terrific Ten Broadcaster in honor of his community service by Spirit of America Foundation’s Maine Chapter. Palm is the evening and late anchor/producer at WAGM. He has been with that television station for 11-plus years over two stints.
Born and raised in Houlton, Palm is known for his volunteerism and role as a community figurehead in Aroostook County. He often volunteers as an announcer for major local events, such as the annual Presque Isle Light Parade.
He has been a long-time participant and fundraiser for local causes, including Planet Head Day, which raises funds for C-A-N-C-E-R (Caring Area Neighbors for Cancer Education and Recovery).
Over the years Palm has been involved in televised charity efforts to raise funds for veteran support and for local homeless initiatives.
He played a role in last fall’s 6th annual ‘Helping Hands Telethon’, which WAGM ran in partnership with ACAP and United Way of Aroostook and which raised over $90,000 to help keep people warm. He also was involved with WAGM’s recent “United Way Telethon”, which raised money to help provide food, transportation, utilities and child care for folks in need.
Maine Spirit of America is a chapter of Spirit of America Foundation, an organization promoting community service.
