This is in reference to Pastor Johnathan Ray’s recent letter concerning WIC and SNAP benefits.

The pastor thanks Sen. Susan Collins for protecting WIC and SNAP benefits for Mainers during the U.S. government shutdown last year.

It was Gov. Janet Mills who redirected $1million from the state to fund those programs in order to support food banks like Good Shepherd Food Bank, the Area Agency on Aging and additional funding for Hunters for the Hungry.
