Todd Sampson, the athletic administrator at Auburn’s Edward Little High School, has been named the assistant executive director of the Maine Principals’ Association.
The MPA is the governing body for high school athletics in Maine.
Sampson, who has more than 20 years of experience in interscholastic athletics and educational leadership, starts in his new role July 1.
He is replacing Mike Bisson, who was elevated to executive director following the retirement of Mike Burnham.
“We are excited to welcome Todd to the MPA leadership team,” said Bisson. “His background in school administration and athletics, along with his commitment to students and school communities, make him an excellent fit for this role.”
In addition to overseeing the athletic programs at Edward Little, Sampson has served as a site director for numerous MPA events and activities. Most recently, he was the MPA’s site director at the Portland Expo and Cross Insurance Arena in Portland for the basketball tournaments.
He has also served on several committees including the football, golf and the interscholastic management committee.
As assistant director, he will help with the administration of interscholastic activities and athletics, working with member schools and coordinating events and initiatives across the state.
