A Bucksport man died Saturday night after being ejected from his vehicle in a single-car crash in Penobscot, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office said.
Zachary McKechnie, 35, was driving a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta northwest on Front Ridge Road toward Orland at about 7:46 p.m. when the vehicle left the road, returned to the road, and then rolled, according to authorities.
McKechnie was thrown from the vehicle during the crash and died from his injuries.
Speed and alcohol are believed to be contributing factors, the sheriff’s office said. The crash remains under investigation.
