A Glenburn man allegedly tried to skip out on a prison sentence.

Donald Searway, 41, was found guilty on Sept. 29, 2025, and sentenced to two years in prison, according to the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office.

But he failed to report to the jail for his sentence, the sheriff’s office said.

Police spotted Searway Wednesday in a vehicle on Union Street in Hermon, and officers stopped him on Billings Road, also in Hermon, where he was immediately placed under arrest.

Searway and a passenger, 47-year-old Curt Leighton of Corinth, now face charges of unlawful drug possession after deputies found fentanyl during the traffic stop.

Searway remained at the Penobscot County Jail in Bangor on Thursday morning, according to the jail’s website.
