University of Maine Cooperative Extension will complete its Spring Gardening Webinar Series: Building Food Security in Maine with “Community Gardens and Food Security in Maine” from 6–7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14.

Across Maine, community gardens are increasing food security by bringing people together to grow food for their communities. This panel discussion will explore how collective garden spaces allow neighbors to work side by side to grow fresh, local produce that is donated to food security organizations. Panelists will share real examples from across the state and offer practical insights into how community gardens get started, build partnerships and grow into lasting resources that strengthen neighborhoods, towns and cities.

Registration is required; sliding scale fee options are available. Register on the event webpage to attend live or receive the recording link. For more information or to request a reasonable accommodation, contact Rebecca Gray at 207-356-1348 or extension.gardening@maine.edu.
