Two 18-year-old men allegedly broke into a Wayne store to steal booze and candy early Tuesday morning.

Hunter Mathieu, 18, of Farmington and Wyatt Dove, 18, of Leeds have been charged with burglary and criminal mischief, according to the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office.

The pair allegedly broke into Cobbies Corner Store about 2:30 a.m., stealing booze and, while on their way out, candy. They then fled in a dark-colored BMW, the sheriff’s office said Friday afternoon.

Mathieu and Dove were arrested later in the day on Tuesday in Androscoggin County, where deputies were investigating a similar burglary.

During a jailhouse interview, one of the men reportedly admitted to a Kennebec County deputy to burglarizing Cobbies.
