A New Hampshire man allegedly spent years sexually abusing a child at a Maine campground.
John Defina, 81, of Kingston, New Hampshire, has been charged with five counts of unlawful sexual contact, four of which are felonies, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation into Defina began back in February after police learned about accusations that he had sexually abused a child under age 13 over several years at Four Seasons Campground in Naples.
Defina had been living there as a seasonal resident during the timeframe when the alleged sexual assaults happened.
He was arrested Wednesday in Kingston and taken to the Rockingham County Jail in Brentwood, New Hampshire, where he awaits extradition to Maine.
Police are releasing no additional information at this time.
