Local artist/illustrator Rebekah Lowell is leading Sept. 21 Healing Together event for sister domestic abuse survivors
WELLS — Maine women domestic abuse survivors are invited to join a Finding our Voices Healing Together day retreat at Wells Reserve Laudholm farm in Wells from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 21.
Rebekah Lowell, local author, artist and Maine Master Naturalist, will lead a nature journaling workshop. A survivor of 10 years of domestic abuse and captivity, Lowell said she found healing and comfort for herself through nature journaling and “I want to share this gift with others.”
The Finding Our Voices retreat will include optional hikes and an ocean swim, plus potluck lunch.
The sliding scale fee starts at zero, and journals and art supplies will be provided for free, due to Lowell donating her services and a grant from Mariah’s Studio. To register or for more information visit https://secure.lglforms.com/form_engine/s/bMJtFGJQuVQ8IxF885wOFg.
