Two of New England’s best-known brands are teaming up to sell products for the first time.

L.L. Bean and Dunkin’ on Monday announced a collaboration that includes a co-branded version of Bean’s famous Boat and Tote canvas bag, and another Bean classic, the Norwegian birdseye sweater, in Dunkin’s signature pink and orange.

Freeport-based L.L. Bean was founded in 1912 by Leon Leonwood Bean in Freeport, where it remains today. The Boat and Tote bag debuted in 1944. The Norwegian Sweater debuted in 1965.

Dunkin’ Donuts was founded in 1950 by Bill Rosenberg in Quincy, Massachusetts and is now headquartered in Canton, Massachusetts. It was acquired in 1990 — along with its biggest New England competitor, Mr. Donut — by Allied-Lyons. The two companies, along with Baskin-Robbins, were held under the name Dunkin’ Brands. In 2018, the original name, Dunkin’ Donuts, was shortened to Dunkin’.
