BELFAST — The Underground Lounge, located at 17 Court St. in Belfast, will welcome bassist, singer and songwriter Cilla Bonnie and her band on Saturday, Oct. 24. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the music starts at 7 p.m.

Bonnie’s soulful grooves and distinctive voice have built a devoted following over two decades of performing, touring, and recording. She works across roles: as a solo artist, she writes all her songs and arrangements, often performing in stripped-down formats (bass and vocal) or with a tight trio for full-band grooves. Bonnie’s sound draws from R&B and soul influences while embracing structural rock dynamics — a blend that gives her music both intimacy and power. In performance, she is known for bringing warmth and authenticity while laying down low-end grooves that get an entire room swaying. Her dedication to crafting honest, soulful music sets her apart.

Bonnie’s latest album “There for Me” was released in January. The album features bandmates Emmett Harrity on keys (Katie Matzell) and Chris Sweet on drums (Micromasse), both of whom will be joining Bonnie at the Underground Lounge. Chris Busby of The Bollard magazine describes her performance on the album as “the sound of an artist in full bloom.” To hear her work, visit cillabonniemusic.com.

The Oct. 24 performance at the Underground Lounge offers audiences the chance to experience the band in an intimate setting: close to the music and musicians for a genuine exchange. The Underground Lounge is a DIY, volunteer-led music series dedicated to bringing quality original performances to Belfast through the off season. Admission is $10-$20 (cash only) at the door. Drinks and homemade snacks will be available by donation. Seasons tickets can be purchased ahead of time at tinyurl.com/43hb7kyx.
