NAPLES — A year-round facility where people of all ages can gather, stay active and connect has been a long-held dream for many Naples residents and visitors. With each contributed dollar, a new Naples Recreation Complex is moving from a lofty, unattainable goal to reality.
Norway Savings Bank is thrilled to donate $15,000 to the project and bank leadership visited with representatives from the Friends of Naples Recreation Complex on Oct. 5 to affirm the commitment. Currently, fundraising for the complex has hit 84% of its $750,000 goal with grants and in-kind donations serving as other funding sources.
The Naples Recreation Complex will be located at Plummer Field next to the American Legion Hall on Route 11. The plans for the 15,625 square-foot building and 3,960 square-foot accessory building include multi-purpose sports courts, meeting rooms, event spaces, a large lobby, a kitchen and snack bar and many other amenities.
“The new Naples Recreation Complex will provide a hub for sports, wellness programs, and events that strengthen the connection, health, and quality of life for people of all ages in Naples and the surrounding areas,” Darci Hamm, president of Norway Savings Bank, said. “NSB is happy to support projects like this which truly expand opportunities and encourage community.”
