Classes were canceled at Oceanside High School on Friday after a teacher’s death.
Regional School Unit 13 learned Thursday afternoon that world language teacher Megan Thill died unexpectedly, according to a letter from Oceanside High School Principal Jesse Bartke.
RSU 13 comprises Cushing, Owls Head, Rockland, South Thomaston and Thomaston.
Students who attend Mid-Coast School of Technology had the option to attend classes there Friday but needed to provide their own transportation.
Counselors were available for students at the high school early Friday afternoon.
“We also want to express our gratitude to our wonderful community of support who offered services, food, care, and encouragement,” Bartke wrote.
Students will return to class Monday.
