Gov. Janet Mills said she voted in Farmington on Thursday, and she shared her picks on social media.
The Democratic governor voted exclusively for her party’s candidates, including for Troy Jackson in the U.S. Senate race, whom she had not previously endorsed. Jackson is challenging five-term Sen. Susan Collins in a race that has the potential to flip control of the Senate.
Mills had hoped to be in Jackson’s position, running an early campaign for the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate, but dropped out after trailing Graham Platner in polls.
I was proud to vote early today in Farmington for: ✅ @PingreeHannah ✅ @TroyJackson207 ✅ @dunlap4congress ✅ Scott Landry for ME House ✅ Bob Sullebarger for ME Senate I encourage Maine people to vote for Democrats up and down the ballot who will stand up for our values and stand up to Trump.

Platner later dropped out after being accused of rape, and Democrats hastily put together a nominating convention in July, choosing Jackson, who as a gubernatorial candidate had campaigned alongside Platner and held similar pro-labor positions.
Mills on Thursday said she voted for Hannah Pingree for governor, Matt Dunlap for Maine’s 2nd Congressional District, H. Scott Landry for Maine House District 75, and Robert Sullebarger for Maine Senate District 5.
