A Maine man was found dead inside his Cambridge home after a fire on Monday evening.

The man was found in his 133 Andrew Ham Road residence at around 5:10 p.m., according  to Maine Department of Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss. Officials believe the man is 75-year-old Stuart Howe; his body has been sent to the Maine medical examiner’s office where an autopsy will be performed.

An excavator had to be brought to the scene to help douse the flames, according to Moss. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
