A Corinth man has been arrested in the shooting death of his mother.

Daniel Derosier, 22, was arrested on murder charges Saturday and was taken to the Penobscot County Jail, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss said.

Deputies reported to 344 Main St. at about 8:28 a.m. to find Abigail Thomas, 41, dead from what appeared to be a gunshot wound, Moss said.

Deputies requested help from the Maine State Police major crimes unit and evidence response team.

According to WABI, there was a heavy police presence Saturday morning with multiple homes taped off in Village Green Trailer Park on Main Street.

Investigators found that Thomas had had an argument with Derosier, who also lived at the residence, Moss said.

Thomas’ body was taken to the chief medical examiner’s office in Augusta, and an autopsy will be conducted.

No further information is available, Moss said.
