Update: The situation has been resolved without incident.

Officials said an elementary school in Windham is in a “secure status” due to a report of a suspicious person in a nearby neighborhood.

RSU 14 Superintendent Christopher Howell said the Manchester Elementary School is in a “secure status” due to a report of a suspicious person in one of the neighborhoods near the school.

Secure status means that the doors to the school are locked and visitors are restricted to the school, according to Howell. Classes and activities inside of the school are taking place as usual.

Howell said Windham police are on scene and investigating.
