An Oklahoma man wanted on child exploitation charges has been arrested in Maine.
Jaime Oktay, 56, faces charges of aggravated possession of child sexual abuse material and possessing, procuring, manufacturing, selling or distributing child sexual abuse material, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
Oktay allegedly fled to Maine from Oklahoma. He was arrested Friday at a home in Waldoboro, the Marshals Service said Monday.
He will be extradited to The Sooner State.
“Fleeing across state lines does not create an escape route, it creates a longer trail for us to follow,” said Josh Taylor, the chief deputy U.S. marshal for the District of Maine. “The United States Marshals Service will track you, we will find you, and we will return you to face the consequences of your actions. There is no safe haven.”
