I would be willing to bet that Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem came up with the title for the operation of ICE in Maine: “Catch of the Day.” The name could be straight out of a two-bit paperback spy novel.

Perhaps she sees it as a nod to our fishing industry. I bet if she shows up in person she’ll have on hip boots, a yellow slicker, a Sou’wester, and be carrying a lobster pot marker.

I can almost hear the ICE agent bullies betting on who has the biggest “catch”!

“Catch of the Day” sounds more like a slogan for one of Maine’s fun and extremely popular fishing derbies than an operation that deals with human beings who are sometimes desperate for the chance to live peacefully in a free country.

Catch of the Day. What an insult to humanity.
