ICE’s illegal actions amount to an immoral and unethical war against its own people. This fact no longer needs to split “Trumpers” versus “liberals.” While our government would like to keep us all fighting, ICE’S unprecedented actions are finally something we can all come together to stop, regardless of how one feels about immigrants and what side of the aisle you sit on.
The real criminals in our country are found, tried, sentenced, and imprisoned by our own well-trained police. They don’t need ICE. Furthermore, both former Presidents Joe Biden and Barack Obama deported many more undocumented immigrants than President Donald Trump and did so without a terrorizing militia. They didn’t need ICE.
I believe everyone can agree that murdering U.S. citizens, kidnapping children, separating families, sending people off to camps and foreign countries without due process, while terrorizing people, businesses, and neighborhoods, and neglecting to operate under any of our constitutional laws, is a very bad thing. Many would call this evil, inhumane, and un-American, but at the very least immoral, unethical, and unnecessary. Most Americans must agree that this is not an us-versus-them issue, but a huge ethical problem.
No one asked for ICE and no one needs ICE. This country has the resources and legal means to meet all our goals legally and without casualties.
To abolish ICE we must question the rhetoric of our leaders who would prefer to split our country for their own means. May Americans come together now, abolish ICE and work on rebuilding a freedom-loving country.
