Having a home in Maine for over 40 years and going to both summer camp and school in Maine, I have come to understand what ice out means. A new beginning, a new season. That cold crisp air and a red sunset and gray skies and a gray frozen lake. You awake the next morning to sun and an open shiny blue lake and putting the kayak in for the first time in months.
Today, ICE out has a totally new meaning. Yes, getting them out of our state and our thoughts means a new spring. One of new growth, a feeling of safety to go out and enjoy our state for all of its beauty.
We need to stand united. We all know “Life is Good” and what its true meaning is.
