In a very crowded field of candidates vying to be our next governor, it is difficult for one candidate to stand out above the rest. However, even among this field of strong candidates I feel that former Maine Senate President Troy Jackson’s unique background and his strong character serve to make him the strongest candidate for the job.
A fifth-generation wood cutter from northern Maine, Troy is certainly no stranger to hard work. Like many Mainers, Troy knows firsthand what it is like to live paycheck to paycheck struggling to keep ahead of rising costs. Troy is a working-class candidate with a long history of supporting Maine’s hard-working middle class.
I have had the pleasure of working with Troy in the legislative process and I have witnessed firsthand his strong character and his passion for representing the interests of Maine’s hard-working people. He has worked tirelessly to give a strong voice in Augusta to those who need to have their voices heard.
At a time when policies coming from Washington are geared to benefit the wealthiest Americans while leaving working families behind, Maine needs a governor that will stand tall with the forgotten 90%. I believe Troy Jackson will be that kind of governor.
