The Bangor Symphony Orchestra led by GRAMMY award-winning Music Director and Conductor Lucas Richman will be welcoming more than 2,000 students from the greater Bangor area to the Collins Center for the Arts to watch the symphony perform live on stage on Monday, May 11. The program will feature Benjamin Britten’s “Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra”, narrated by Jen Shepard, Penobscot Theatre Company’s artistic director. Additional music by Galbraith, Purcell, Algar, Strauss and John Williams will be on the program.
High school cellist Ronan Sands of Eddington will be a soloist with the orchestra as the winner of the Maine High School Concerto Competition. He will be performing the first movement of Edward Elgar’s Cello Concerto.
