Some Democrats argue that Susan Collins supports too many Republican policies, while some MAGA Republicans criticize her for not supporting President Donald Trump enough. It is unfortunate that the far left and far right are often unwilling to work together or compromise for the good of our country. What I think this nation needs are more centrist Republicans and Democrats who are willing to find common ground and work together to solve problems.
Sen. Collins has consistently been ranked as the most bipartisan member of the Senate by the Lugar Center and Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy. This nonpartisan ranking measures how often members of Congress work across party lines to advance legislation and achieve results.
Throughout Maine and in Washington, D.C., Collins is known for her strong work ethic and her ability to get things done. This reputation is the result of the high standards she sets for herself and her staff. In nearly 30 years in the Senate, Collins has never missed a vote and recently surpassed 10,000 consecutive votes cast.
