BANGOR — The Bangor Symphony Orchestra and Bangor Humane were recently honored by Subaru’s “Share the Love” event with Quirk Subaru of Bangor, which gave an earmarked portion of all sales and leases of qualifying Subarus between November 2025 and January for support.
“The annual support from Quirk Subaru of Bangor for the Bangor Symphony Orchestra (BSO) is very appreciated,” Renia Shterenberg, executive director BSO, said. “Every day, we set out on our mission of providing powerful, enriching and diverse musical experiences through live concert performances and education programs of the highest quality, and Quirk Subaru of Bangor is right there beside us, helping to support our programs — from year-round symphonic concerts to our big film and young people’s concerts — and with additional support for our Youth Orchestras, our ‘BSYO’, these gifts helps students and adults share in the joys of music. We are so grateful!”
“At Quirk Subaru, ‘Share the Love’ is all about giving back to the community we call home, and our customers play a huge role in making that happen. Thanks to their incredible support, we are providing a total of $39,000 in funding this year to the Bangor Symphony Orchestra and the Bangor Humane Society,” Jim Quirk, owner and general manager of Quirk Subaru, said. “Both organizations do vital work that enriches lives across the entire Bangor region — whether by bringing world-class music to our communities or caring for animals in need — and we are honored to champion their missions alongside our customers.”
The season sponsorship from Quirk Subaru helped every facet of the BSO’s vast array of programming. Over 6,700 individuals experienced full orchestra concerts at the Collins Center for the Arts, and over 2,000 students attended our Young People’s Concerts in May. Our Music and Wellness program puts BSO musicians into area hospitals once a week for healing through music, and our four Youth Ensembles had 88 students engaged over the school year in orchestra, wind ensemble, beginning ensemble and chamber music.
“Quirk Subaru has generously prioritized the care of homeless and unwanted pets in our community for well over a decade,’ Bangor Humane Society’s Executive Director Suzan Prendergast said. “We are fortunate to be recipients of such dedicated support from Quirk, which has helped thousands of pets prepare for and find new homes. We are honored to be a soft place to land for pets in need of their purr-fect matches, and to provide critical resources for existing pet owners.”
