I support Madison Cook for House District 39. Raised in Belfast, she left Maine to attend college, then returned home after beginning her career. Madison has shown a deep commitment to our community through her service on the school board and in her campaign for the State House. A strong advocate and experienced organizer, she wants to make Maine a place where younger generations can live comfortably, learn, work, and thrive; and where older Mainers are not forgotten.
An architect by training, I believe Madison is a consensus builder and a team player. As a professor of architecture and planning myself, I know her training is rooted in both problem solving and visioning. We are taught to dissect and resolve complex issues by looking at multiple layers, creatively balancing goals with budgets, skills she will bring to the Legislature.
Madison understands the importance of training Maine students for the trades. She understands the need for sensible codes and laws that protect the health and safety of our communities. She knows we must prioritize and compromise while not losing sight of the larger objectives. Add to that what I see as an inherent understanding of her community and the energy of youth, and you have a stellar candidate for House District 39!
