A man with an active arrest warrant was taken into police custody Monday, according to the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office.

At around 4:20 p.m., David Defilippo drove off after sheriffs attempted to perform a traffic stop near Thurstons Way in Hudson. Defilippo drove the vehicle to the end of a nearby driveway, before attempting to avoid arrest on foot.

Officials used a Taser to take the 38-year-old man into custody.

He has been charged with operating a vehicle after repeatedly having his license revoked, refusing to stop for police, and refusing to submit to arrest.

He was also in violation of a probation revocation warrant. Defilippo was transported to Penobscot County Jail.
