I don’t think Susan Collins is “Our Senator.” I believe she is a creature of Republican Washington. She has been there for far too many years.
As head of the the Senate Appropriations Committee, I think you would expect she would talk about the level of corruption in the awarding of government contracts, the costs of President Donald Trump’s degrading the State Department, his assault on healthcare and scientific research, the tearing down of the East Wing of the White House, the building of a gilded ballroom for the Republican elite.
Collins voted for more money for ICE, which seems incredible, based on what we know. She helped install the current Supreme Court. Look how that’s worked out for women, immigrants and voting rights. You would think she would have more influence than she does regarding the ill-conceived war against Iran. “Concerned” as always, she voted for restrictions on the war, not against the war itself.
I believe it is time for new leadership, not more lies, corruption and enabling.
