While canvassing for the midterm elections, I learned firsthand that many voters across age groups and political affiliations share one concern: The Trump administration’s unconventional and authoritarian policies threaten our democracy and Constitution.
I was not surprised to hear this collective perspective, but I was impressed with the number of registered voters still undecided about who to choose for Maine’s Senate and the 2nd Congressional District’s U.S. House seat. As an “unenrolled” registered voter, I am supporting Troy Jackson and Matt Dunlap.
I understand it may take more than an open mind to cross party lines or vote for a candidate who does not wholeheartedly align with your opinions. As I suggested to disgruntled and undecided voters, consider it to be the best alternative to stop President Donald Trump’s administration from causing more harm to “we the people.”
A vote for Jackson and Dunlap can help carry a Democratic majority in both the Senate and the House. I believe this will be an initiative-taking way to stop or at least slow down the continuous damage domestically and globally created by Trump’s administration and his MAGA party.
The presidential election is in two years; that is more than enough time to reshuffle the political cards and see what new leading candidates may rise to the top. A Democratic “blue wave” for the midterm elections may offer more assurance that we will all vote again in 2028.
Please vote for Troy Jackson and Matt Dunlap to represent Maine. Your voice and vote matters!
