At Mount Rushmore in July, President Donald Trump warned us about the horrors of Communism: “A mortal threat to American liberty,” he said. And more dangerous than world wars or 9/11.
Was he referring to the horrors and injustice of our own anti-Communist era perpetrated by Republican Sen. Joseph McCarthy? Or was he talking about Communist countries today, which are dictatorships with little care for the people?
What American is acting like a Communist today? It’s Trump himself, who is working with the dictators of Russia, China, and even North Korea. It’s clear to me from our president’s actions that he desires the powers of a dictator.
