The Osher School of Music and the Department of Theatre and Dance present a dynamic, collaborative reimagining of one of ancient Greece’s most iconic myths in theatre, opera, and dance. Eurydice Rising pulls from a diverse body of work surrounding Orpheus’s journey into the underworld to be reunited with his young bride. Theirs is a journey of love, loss, and creative expression that exceeds the bounds of life and death, presence and absence. At its core, the Orphic cycle is an exploration of art and music as restorative, life affirming acts, so powerful that they might reopen stories that seem to have concluded and transform death itself to an opportunity for new life.
