NEXT STEPS WITH ALEX ROSENBERG
May 27 @ 9:00 am – 5:00 pm EDT
Recurring Event (See all)
$400.00 – $450.00

Waterfall Arts is thrilled to welcome Alexander Rosenberg, a Season 1 contestant on the Netflix series Blown Away, for a weekend to remember this May.

Alex’s Next Steps class will emphasize the importance of building upon positive habits and solid hand skills. A strong foundation is key to developing thoughtful and technically refined pieces in the hot shop. Students will focus on gathering, wall thickness, speed, ergonomics, and heat in order to create well designed and elegant vessels.

This course will emphasize individual attention and instruction time will be divided between demonstrations and supervised work time. This class is ideal for people who have minimal to basic glassblowing skills, but who are not absolute beginners. Students should have taken at least one beginning glassblowing class/workshop prior to this class.

Please note, this is a two-day class running from 9am – 5pm on Saturday May 27 and Sunday May 28. Students should bring a notebook and writing implement, and consider purchasing a blow hose for the class. All other materials are included. If you have specific colors you are interested in working with please bring them with you.

Alexander Rosenberg is a Philadelphia-based artist, educator, and writer. He earned a Master of Science in Visual Studies from MIT and a BFA in glass from Rhode Island School of Design.
