Downtown Bangor hit with rash of burglaries, tire slashings

BANGOR, Maine -&nbspBy noon on Thursday, more than 20 people had called police to report their vehicles had been broken into or their tires had been slashed.

“We had a rash of them,” Bangor Police Sgt. Allen Hayden said. “There were a bunch of vehicles hit.”

Most of the reports came from the downtown area, he said.

“They’ re [investigators] still piecing things together,” Hayden said. “We are still taking calls.”
