BANGOR, Maine&nbsp- Nomination papers will be available Aug. 8 for City Council and school committee seats to be filled during city elections Nov. 4.

This year, voters will fill three of the council’ s nine positions and three of the school committee’ s seven seats. All positions are for three years.

In council elections, voters will fill the expiring positions of Frank Farrington, Richard Greene and Gerry Palmer.

Farrington, however, is not eligible for re-election this year because of the city’ s term limits rules. Greene, who also would have termed out this fall, resigned from the council earlier this year after encountering legal problems.

On the school side of the ballot, voters will fill the expiring positions of Phyllis Guerette, Christine Szal and Jeff Wahlstrom.

Nomination petitions must be returned no earlier than Aug. 16 and no later than Sept. 5.
