ROCKLAND, Maine&nbsp-&nbspRescuers used air bags to move a 5-ton rock to free a woman who got stuck at the Rockland Breakwater.

Lt. Rick Johnson of the Rockland Fire Department said emergency workers responded shortly before noon Thursday.

“She fell into a crack between the granite blocks and her leg had gotten stuck,” Johnson said.

The Fire Department uses air bags for moving large objects such as granite blocks, he said.

“We pumped them up and her leg was freed,” Johnson said.

The woman refused an offer to be taken to a hospital and left on her own, he said.

Because of privacy restrictions, the department would not identify her.
