PARIS, Maine (AP) - A Sumner man charged with murder in the shooting deaths of two men in West Paris has been ordered held without bail for the time being.
State police detectives arrested 32-year-old Duane Waterman on Monday while he was fishing with his two children on a pond in Livermore. On Tuesday, a judge in South Paris ordered Waterman held pending a bail review hearing tentatively set for September.
Waterman is charged in the killings of 50-year-old Timothy Mayberry and 43-year-old Todd Smith, whose bodies were found July 26 in West Paris.
State police detectives have not hinted at any theories as to what led to the fatal shootings. And affidavits filed in court have been sealed.
