EDGAR J. TARDIFF MILLINOCKET – Edgar J. Tardiff, 81, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008, at a Howland health care facility. He was born Aug. 8, 1927, in Caribou, the son of Tom and Emilie Tardiff. Edgar was a graduate of Fairfield High School. A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Air Force as a flight engineer. After his discharge, he was employed as an aircraft mechanic with Continental Airlines in California for many years, retiring in 1989. In 2006 Edgar and his wife, Norma, moved to Millinocket to be near their family. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Norma A. (Stevens) Tardiff of Millinocket; three sons, Larry Tardiff, Teddy Tardiff and David Tardiff; many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 112 Maine Ave., Millinocket, with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presider.
