CHERRYFIELD and DEBLOIS Eunice H. Grant, 96, passed away Sept. 1, 2008, at her daughter’s residence, after a period of failing health. She was born Jan. 5, 1912, in Cherryfield, daughter of the late Hiram and Hittie (Tracy) Harrington. She graduated from Cherryfield Academy 1929 and attended Washington State Normal School for a year. Eunice taught school for a few years. Eunice married her husband, Morton, in 1933. Eunice lived most of her life in Deblois, where she held several offices for close to 50 years. Eunice was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Cherryfield. She loved tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. She also enjoyed reading, crocheting and knitting. She is survived by her children, Pauline Craft of Cherryfield, Donald Grant and wife, June, of Orono, Violet Harrington and husband, Norris, of Cherryfield, David Grant of Brewer and James Grant and wife, Joanne, of Michigan; grandchildren, Burton Craft, Robert Craft and wife, Kristen, William Craft Jr. and wife, Kathy, Jeffrey Grant and wife, Wendy, Stephen Harrington and wife, Carolyn, Michael Harrington, Kriss Evans and husband, Pete, Kevin Grant and wife, Tina, Jason Grant and wife, Michelle, and Jennie Grant; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Sarah Craft, Connor and Cole Craft, Ryan, Nicole and Ross Turbyfill, Matthew and Kimberly Harrington, and Kala and Kyle Grant; several nieces and nephews. Eunice was predeceased by her husband, Morton Grant in 1986; granddaughters, Judi Grant, Debbie Craft and Mary Anne Turbyfill; son-in-law, William Craft; and daughter-in-law, Susan Grant. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, at First Baptist Church, Cherryfield, with the Rev. Ambrose Rolfe officiating. Burial will be after at Deblois Cemetery.
